With the shift in the temperatures, it's a good time to let you all know that even though it's getting colder, I still take the students outside for recess. Unless it's raining, super windy, or just bitter cold, we will be outside! So please send your child in with proper coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves etc....whatever they will need to be comofortable outside playing.

In math we are focused on measurement of time. Today we looked at clocks and began counting time by increments of 5 and then adding the single minutes to find the total amount of elapsed time. Students should use number lines, or clocks to help model thier problem solving.

We finished up our charts on Owls and Bats. Tomorrow we will look at our new group books all about famous baseball players; Babe Ruth, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron. Our core story is about Roberto Clemente. Students are focusing on the long /i/ sound. Students will continue to work in groups and this week we will focus on cause and efrect. Look for some extra work on reading and comprehension. Continue to work on those basic multiplication facts and division facts. The more fluent students are, the better.
