Well, we are definitely feeling that arctic blast! Please suit up your children...even the walk from the bus to school and from the bus to your house is cold. Protect those hands and that special head! We are keeping students inside for recess due to the extremely low wind chills. As soon as the windchill is above 20, we will try to head outside. That said, keep your eyes peeled for emails and announcements for when we will go outside and play in the snow!
Information about the school coin drive was sent home today. I also added some information on the announcement section of the website.
We continued in math will lesson 19 HOWEVER we changed the instructions. Instead of using the place value chart we made it simpler and said that we were going to just use the pattern of basic facts to solve problems that were multiples of 10. Students agreed that the "Mrs. Gordon" way was much easier. Tonight's homework was a written out worksheet using basic facts to build a pattern as well as a few review subtraction and perimeter problems. We will be done with module 3 on Friday and plan on assessing the module on Monday. Module 4 will begin on Tuesday. Module 4 looks at calculating area.
We continue to learn about Canada. Today we looked at the map and found the 10 Canadian provinces and located the 3 territories. Tomorrow we learn about Canada's government.
Take care and stay warm!
