We have been having a lot of fun with our new science kit. We are exploring forces, such as a push and a pull, and what forces do to an object. Today we worked with the concept of moving an object without touching it. How could we do that? Well....we used our heads! We used static electricity. We charged the balloons with static electricity (causing some really great hairdos!) and used the built up charge on the balloon to move an empty bottle. Ask your child about this experiement and how static electricity works!
In ELA we continue to work in small groups. One group finished a book about the history of the Olympics. Another group worked on a book all about Canada. The remainder of the week groups will work on a book called All About Chocolate. Yummy!
Valentine's Party tomorrow. It is just a small celebration that will take place between lunch and specials. Be sure to have your child pack their valentines to pass out!
