Hello parents! First of all, let me say that it was so nice to see most of you yesterday at Parent Visitation Day. The students are always so excited to see you in "their" territory and they love to share with you all the things we do all day. I hope that you enjoyed playing some of the math games and centers with them and got a little insight to some of the things we do all day.
Then we had the Halloween parade which is always a fun time (even if it's cold and drizzly!). Again, thank you for standing in the cold and supporting us as we paraded around!
As you may have noticed, our reading log schedule has been a little random these past few weeks. Please bear with me as I try to provide a bit more reading comprehension practice every once in a while at home. We are working on using text to cite evidence and explain anwers and the more we practice writing out these thoughts, the more routine it becomes. Please let me know if you have any questions...I'll be more than happy to help explain anything for you.
Two days ago we created water cycle in a bag. You can see them hanging in the windows of the classroom. When the sun comes out, we will be able to watch the water as it evaporates and then condenses at the top of the bag and then "precipitates" back down the side of the bag into the ocean. The students loved making these and I hope that they will prove successful once we stop having all this rain.
In math we continue to work with solving problems using measurement and measuring labels.
